Passion and desire to achieve is what pushes a creative mind. While it is not possible to avoid comparing yourself to others, still, the ultimate drive is your will to push your artistic limits. Sometimes, the creative push may be too much: my mind can feel like a browser with 100s tabs open at once.
However, once you start the process and lose yourself in it, you will reach your own kind of Nirvana, or pure FLOW, like Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi mentions in his book by the same title.
