A good friend is there when you need it, and away when you don’t.
I am not sure who originally created this quote, but I know I have heard it from Brad Frost when he was talking about mobile Web Navigation (nerding out here).
In any case, I really like it. Everyone talks about “being there” for friends… It is, however, very hard, to step away and leave some space, when needed or even requested. At times it is the best you can do, and the more useful. Be the best possible friend in the way the other person NEED you to be.
