Verba volant, scripta manent- Emperor Titus

Spoken words fly away, written words remain- Emperor Titus

Happy Valentine’s Day! Today’s quote may seem like an odd choice for today, but I feel it fits perfectly: while I like flowers, chocolate and all, what I really want for Valentine’s Day (or any occasion, really) is a heartfelt card. No, guys, a signature at the bottom of a store bought card does not cut it.

It may come from my anxiety, but a written card is a present that keeps on giving: it so beautiful to find an old card and reminisce about that time, and enjoy the written words once again. It is also one of the cheapest presents you can buy…in fact, you do not even need to buy a card at all: just make your own.

Also, this applies beautifully to any kind of resolution, or even in design and advertising: writing something done, reinforce commitment, as explained by Michael Hyatt in his post.
