Back to our regularly programmed quotes, with a bit of humor. If you have a suggestion for a quote, please let me know in a comment below.

Owning less is better than organizing more.

This is a tough one for me, since I love to organize: in fact it is my side job — I declutter, organize and style homes under the name tz does it.

However, I could not agree more: stuff ties us down, and we often simply transfer emotional attachments to things. There is help. Like I say on my site, don’t get overwhelmed, get help. It could be a friend or a professional, like me, or even a book. Just take it slow, and one step at a time.

Most importantly, find an organization system that works for you, so you will be able to manage the remaining stuff.

By the way, do you know there is a word for accumulating books to read later (or never)? Yup. It is called TSUNDOKU…and I am guilty! It is a Japanese word, and you can read all about its origins on wikipedia
